We'd want to start another translation, but the author of the chosen episode (77) is not active since March. I think we could still get the needed files and go on also without his help, but is it ok to do so without the author's permission?
Alternatively, do you have any suggestion on the episodes we should try?

Probably the best episode ever is "#93 - Murder on the Moonshine Mansion" and it would surely deserve a translation.

In two days my first episode, #94, will be published and I would really like to see it translated to Italian. I suggest you take a look at it and send me a message if you're interested in translating it. I would gladly support you and give you all the files you need and answer any questions you have.

a not so well done translation could ruin the gaming experience of the whole episode

Ah, sorry, I forgot to mention that we still don't have anyone who understands german, so we need to work on episodes that already have an english translation. We could try using google translate, but I can't guarantee the quality of the work  (just joking )

Yes, I absolutely agree with you 
I think the result would still be a TRA file. We had a similar issue with episode 83, for which the author had lost the most recent game files. In that case we extracted and re-made the TRS, TRA and acsprset.spr files (the latter to add the italian GUI), but that was made in AGS 3.xx, while Ep 77 is in AGS 2.7x.

Maniac on the Mississipi & Day of the Dead nearly done!

Version 1.2 of Maniac On The Mississippi has been released and contains an ITALIAN translation! Download it here!



The guys from MIWORLD.EU have added the translation and corrected some bugs after I provided them the source files.

Here is the list of changes since version 1.1:

Spoiler (hover to show)

1) Quit-Load-Start text button in the starting screen are now read form the trs, so that they can be translated, if anyone wants to.

2) Added line "Das will ich nicht!" / "I'm not interested!" spoken by NPC that are GIVEN an object that should instead stay in the inventory (if there wasn't already a line).

3) Added line "Besser nicht." / "I'd rather not." spoken by Fred when the player USE an object, that should instead stay in the inventory, with a NPC.
+ Fred's FaceLocation towards them.

4) Only for Italian language, added Italian GUI and sprites for the vending machine (room 52 - 2.Deck), sign (room 57 - Maschinenraum) and credits (room 99 - End Titles).
In each room there's, in the room_Load function there's now a code that selects the translated sprites if the Italina language is chosen.

5) Fixed "Close Sign" text bug in room 57 - Maschinenraum (previously "Die Schublade wurde bereits sorgfältig verschlossen." / "The drawer is already closed.", now "Ich kann das Schild nicht schließen." / "I can't close the sign.")

I highly recommend working together with the guys from MIWORLD.EU!
